Membership

We believe that church membership is essential in the life of a believer in Christ. The New Testament teaches that being a part of a local church is necessary for encouragement, accountability, and growth.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP

To qualify for membership at Redeemer, a person must be a believer in Jesus Christ who gives evidence of regeneration, who has been baptized by immersion in obedience to Christ, following his or her regeneration, and who wholeheartedly believes in the Christian faith as revealed in the Bible. Each member must affirm the teaching of Scripture as expressed in the Statement of Faith and must promise to keep the commitments expressed in the Church Covenant. The elders have been tasked with the responsibility for determining each person’s qualification for membership.

PROCESS FOR MEMBERSHIP

1. Sign up and attend all 4 Redeemer 101 classes.

2. Schedule a membership interview with our Elders.

3. Sign a statement of faith and covenant form.

4. Share your testimony with the church during a prayer service (encouraged but not required).

5. You will be presented to the church body at a members’ meeting for vote. Upon approval you will be a full member and enjoy every benefit that entails.*

*If during the course of the membership process it is determined that you are needing to be baptized the process will continue as normal until stage 5 in which the congregation will vote upon your membership contingent on baptism. Upon approval we will seek to baptize you at the following Sunday service, after which you will officially become a member of the church.
